Entrex CEO’s Syndicated Columns now read by over One Million Readers
Chicago, IL November 6, 2006 – The million reader milestone was reached today by Entrex’s CEO,
Stephen H. Watkins’, bi-monthly syndicated column.
Five months ago, when Entrex, Inc. founder and CEO Stephen H. Watkins was approached by NewsUSA about writing a financial news column focused on alternative equity investment, he wasn’t convinced there was a market for it in the mass media. It turns out this was a chance worth taking.
Since July 2006 his monthly column—which highlights such topics as ensuring liquidity in private company stock or explaining how and why private and non-reporting companies should leverage their market value to full advantage— has registered over one million readers around the country.
Watkins is a zealot in the alternative investment arena. The message in his recently published book, “Capital Can’t Fund What it Can’t Find” received rave reviews from colleagues that are also acutely in tune to the state of the global financial marketplace. Jonathan Bulkeley, founder of AOL/Europe and former CEO of Barnes & Noble.com says, “Rarely do we have the opportunity to see, and be part of, world-changing innovation. Watkins has brought together the parties and the methodologies which could change the look and feel of the entrepreneurial capital marketplace for years to come.”
CNN dubbed Entrex—short for Entrepreneurial Exchange—“a kind of good housekeeping seal of approval…” in praise of process and company Watkins leads. David Wield, a former Co-Chairman of NASDAQ and now CEO of The National Research Exchange quips… “Watkins is trying to do something ridiculously ambitious by taking the basic philosophy behind reporting and disclosure down to private companies… but his persistence appears to be gaining traction.”
About Stephen H. Watkins:
Mr. Watkins is a serial entrepreneur, having founded and exited companies in a variety of industry sectors. His experience in entrepreneurial company financial transactions, and their inefficiency in terms of visibility to the financial community led him to found Entrex as an Entrepreneurial Exchange… an exchange for the better. Mr. Watkins was awarded a prestigious “SBA Financial Services Advocate of the Year Award” for his efforts in creating a marketplace for Entrepreneurial Companies: Entrex. (www.stephenhwatkins.com)
