Underwriters and Investors Line Up to Meet a Fresh Batch of Private Companies
Chicago, IL – August 28, 2007 – Entrex, Inc., an Entrepreneurial Exchange launched to provide a transparent marketplace for individual and institutional capital to shop for private company investment targets, is making a name for itself in the financial community through its various Fund Partners; a collection of investment vehicles utilizing Entrex companies -- dubbed a “whole new asset class” by UBS -- to design custom portfolios that capture returns from a sub-set of performing and growing private firms.
Stephen H. Watkins, Entrex CEO, says, “The Entrex marketplace is a group of companies with $5-100 Million in annual revenue, most of which would be under the radar for even private placements – let alone institutional dollars. Our business model is simply to provide financial, corporate and third-party valuation data, allowing the investment community to decide for themselves which companies fit their target portfolio. Entrex’s average company represents $17 Million in annual revenue and as a collection they’ve grown an average of 36% per year, but only an asset manager can decide what size, industry or geographic mix is right for their own needs.”
Current Fund Partners bring Entrex’s name to every corner of the investor world. Iron Leaf Capital buys equity stakes in sustainable/socially responsible companies. On the retail side is the Private Company Composite Index (www.privatecompanyindex.com), distributed through a syndicate of Broker/Dealers, that’s designed to offer $1 Million in funding to purchase revenue royalty contracts from upwards of 1000 companies -- creating a diverse basket of quarterly income producing companies for investors.
Additionally, Arthur Lipper III partnered to create three $200 Million revenue royalty investment funds for underwriting/distribution to the institutional market, though tranche one is being dedicated to LPs and family offices. Boston First Capital is also in the game, offering their private placement clients opportunities for anticipated alternative-level returns from the Entrex assets.
“We are able to offer up targets that would usually fall below even the scope of a highly networked M&A banker. Our core competency is attracting companies to a marketplace where they know capital will come to find them. We tell capital sources: there are 24 million U.S. private companies, if we can’t fulfill your wish list with the existing collection -- we’ll find them for you.” Watkins continues and clarifies, “In the end Entrex is all about transparent deal flow for the investment community.”
