Entrex CEO & Author of “Capital Can’t Fund What It Can’t Fund” Invited to speak at 2007 National ESOP Conference
Chicago, IL November 27, 2006 – Stephen H. Watkins, Entrex CEO and author of the recently published “Capital Can’t Fund What It Can’t Find,” was invited by the National Center for Employee Ownership and the Beyster Institute to speak at their 2007 Employee Ownership Conference in March.
“Stock options used to be an advantage that public companies had when it came to enticing potential employees. Private companies now have the ability to not only provide options or shares through a unique and innovative sub-public market…. But now quarterly value and liquidity options” Watkins explains.
Mr. Watkins’ views on attaining liquidity for private company shares was developed after years of his own experience launching, growing and selling numerous non-public companies. He became confounded by the limited scope of the entrepreneurial/private finance world. His book, “Capital Can’t Fund What It Can’t Find” is an explanation of the market’s need for a new asset space—from an evolutionary perspective. This new marketspace provides a platform for liquidity of private company shares.
Watkins continues, “Just imagine if employees could actually see quantifiable gains and losses in the value of their company through their efforts. Public companies can easily provide shares that have a dollar value. Now, by following the similar standards to public company disclosure and reporting, private companies and their shareholders can measure performance against established benchmarks.”
Watkins is the CEO and Founder of Entrex, Inc. An exchange where investors can find, research, track, manage and trade interests in private and non-reporting companies. Watkins purports, “The elaborate system built by the SEC for public investor protection has become a home for only the most elite public companies. Yet our nation’s economic and employment growth comes from the private and non-reporting entrepreneurial companies which have limited access to the public capital markets. Entrex provides a structure for companies to gain credibility and exposure to the alternative capital markets. By simply following industry-accepted valuation principles, owners, optioned employees and external investors can acquire shares, track share value and know their liquidity options.”
All profits from Watkins’ book are committed to a series of regional charitable funds. The same funds which offer a charitable contribution… while investing in local private companies which provide economic and employment growth to the community… with investment earnings offer charitable donations as directed by the foundation donor.
