Take the 2007 Private Company CEO Survey:  Reality, Trends & Expectations

Chicago, IL February 26, 2007 – The Private Company Index (PCI) is pleased to announce that data collection is in the final weeks for the annual Survey of Private Company CEOs: Reality, Trends & Expectations.  In effort to collect the broadest scale data possible, all CEOs are invited to participate.  Visit www.entrex.net or www.privatecompanyindex.com for a link to the online form which should take about 10 minutes to complete.

The survey has two primary focuses: 1) to compare trends from private sector CEOs to published data from public company CEOs, and then highlight important operational and financial differences within the two market spaces; 2) to bring current and real data, about financial expectations unique to private companies, to the traditional financial community (thoughts regarding M&A, private equity investments, etc.).

The PCI was co-founded by Entrex, Inc. in mid 2005.  Entrex CEO Stephen H. Watkins explains, “This project was born in response to myriad requests from the business media and financial community seeking detailed private company trend data—from us.  It seems that there aren’t many players looking at the private sector and estimating how they will succeed from a capital point of view.  We’re aiming for a very large number of survey respondents so we can appropriately draw common conclusions using factors like company size, profitability, geography, and rating the factors of influence on company performance.”

The published report will contain insights from actual CEOs as well as statistical renderings of data conclusions.  “It’s important for us to convey the experiences of real-life CEOs as related to the data points.  To show the world concrete examples of how successful “blue chip” private companies feel a difference in today’s business climate from their public counterparts.” says Watkins.
